Lady in Red

Photos  by Vera Bersabal

(Romper- Rosegal // Sunglasses- Zerouv // Necklace-Mirina Collections)

All I got is summer time, running through my mind~

I've partnered up with Rosegal to show you some summer looks to (hopefully) keep you cool for the summer! Rosegal is an online clothing store that sells the hottest fashionable clothes at very reasonable prices. You can check out their instagram under @rosegal_official and website at www.rosegal.com

Bright colors are usually not the color schemes I gravitate to when it comes to clothing, but I thought, why not try something new for once, Lara? I went in bold and came out with this stunning floral red romper. The strapless sleeves with ruffle detailings were what sold me on this piece (As you can tell on my previous post, I'm clearly a sucker for ruffles).  This romper retails for $17.07 on their website. I'm usually a size small but the rosegal suggests that I order a size up because their sizings do run small. I went with a medium and it fit me perfectly. The bottoms are of a culotte style so it's a little longer than what I prefer on a romper but it's good for a change. If you'd like to purchase their romper you may do so through this link

You can also check out their latest floral rompers here.

You can't forget accessories am I right? I styled this look with round pink sunnies which are a cute trend for this summer and this layered golden necklace from Mirina Collections. This necklace comes in 2 colors but I chose on styling the golden color to contrast with the red romper. On their website, this retails for $84 but if you use my discount code: MirinaGirls you'll save 20% off. If you're interested in purchasing this dainty necklace, you may do so through this link

See you on my next post!

Coffee is the New Black

Photos by Robert Garong

(Bomber Jacket- Asos / Dress Shirt- VSPink / Sunnies- ZeroUv)

Happy Sunday my loves!

I'm no coffee lover but I had to cop this dress shirt cause it's the cutest thing ever. Dress shirts have been the trend since 2016 so I wanted to spruce my version up with a bomber jacket to get that tough girl look. Fashion has no gender boundaries which is what I love the most about it. I can wear an oversized mens flannel and make it look feminine with my fashionista touch!

This shoot day consisted of a trip to The Broad Museum in DTLA. The last sunday of January is know as free museum sunday. A select number of museums allow free admission the whole day to celebrate the event. Perfect for a family day or an artsy date. After finishing up at the broad, Robert and I hopped on over to the Disney Concert Hall to take these shots. It's not hard to miss this building because it's literally right next to the museum. The exterior silver architecture is such a true beauty. I do advise not to touch the building walls on a hot day cause you might get burned like I did.

I've been on an inspiration high lately so I'm really excited to write more posts and maybe  start a youtube channel in a few months.

Lara

I left my heart in tokyo

Photos  by Edward Kim

( Crop Top- Hollister, Skirt- JcPenney, Purse & Sunnies- Forever21)

Greetings, lovelies!

I haven't blogged in a while cause I haven't gotten the chance to get any new clothes for summer. I find it so tempting when you want to buy everything in a store, but you can't, since you have no source of income. The struggle is too real. BOOHOO.

Anyways, I've been pulling up old shoots I did since I haven't written about them. Might as well share them with y'all!!

So this is a shoot I did last summer with Edward, at the Japanese Gardens in Van Nuys, CA. I'd been so oblivious to this place because I never thought that the San Fernando Valley would have a Japanese Garden at all- Thank God for google!

Admission was only $3 per person (if I remember correctly) and it's truly such a beautiful place to take pictures at. The lighting is perfect during the daytime, and there's a tea house where you and your friends can relax in while drinking tea. It wasn't open yet when we went, so maybe Edward and I will shoot here again this summer!

I styled this effortless outfit with pieces that every girl has in her closet. A black skater skirt and a crop top. I chose a polka dotted pattern since It would contrast more with the plain, black skirt. Finishing it up, I wore these nude, open toed, ankle strapped heels. This outfit definitely has a  "I didn't try too hard to look pretty" feel. What do you guys think?

If you're up for a little adventure this weekend, head on over to Temecula Valley, for their Balloon & Wine Festival. I've always been fascinated with hot air balloons because of their dazzling designs and how high they get up in the sky! I'll be in attendance so I'm hoping to get nice shots of the hot air balloons in flight, during the sunset balloon launch.

Stay tuned for my next post!

Hex Girl

(crop top- nastygal, skater skirt- decree by jcpenney, sandals- charlotte russe, sunnies- zerouv, accessories- bornprettystore

Photos by Vera Bersabal

I'm a hex girl and I'm gonna put a spell on you.

Broomsticks. dark lippies. casting spells. and black clothing from head to toe. If I had a chance to be someone else in the afterlife, being a witch is number one on my list. American Horror Story: Coven was a favorite tv show of mine and I love how they did a modernized take on the witches' wardrobes. Here's my take on this witch inspired outfit.

I paired this edgy  cropped tank with a black skater skirt to give it a gothic but feminine feel. These open- toe laced up sandals are just the cherry on top to this outfit. Don't let these laces fool you. These babies have zippers on the sides so no need to worry about tying them up.

So all the accessories I used in this outfit are from bornprettystore.com  They have really cute jewelries and accessories at very affordable prices! some as low as $0.99! It's FREE SHIPPING plus, just punch in my promo code BALT10 and you'll get 10% off your entire purchase! Below I've linked the ones I used for this look. Simply click on their side banner or on the caption to be redirected to their site.

The sun shaped choker necklace is definitely a fave of mine due to its vintage cryptic look. This will definitely come in handy especially for halloween or dress up parties.

I grew up to love the Harry Potter series so I totally had to get this braided bracelet. It has 2 cute owls, the snitch, and the deathly hallows on it so I simply couldn't resist.

I've never actually owned any finger connected bracelets so this is my first one ever. I have a fear of snakes, but this one I can deal with since I know it won't bite.

Who said witches didn't have a sense of style?

Indio Calling

Photos by Vera Bersabal

(Cutoffs- Brandy Melville, Bralette- Gilly Hicks, Tights- Romwe, Sunnies- Zerouv)

Paired this easy outfit with this brandy melville coachella cutoff & a burgundy gilly bralette. Cutoffs are the way to go this season since the temperatures seem to climb a bit on the warmer side.

Can't wait to enjoy this weekend.

SPRING ITEMS + EVERYDAY MAKEUP

Happy Sunday!

I come bearing great news. Last week I received my first sponsor from bornprettystore.com It's a jewelry and accessory site which has a bunch of cute stuff! They gave me a 10 % discount to share with you all; plus it's free shipping. The code is on my page so just click on the side banner and you'll be redirected to their site.

So as promised, here are my favorite items for spring + my everyday makeup. Check 'em out!

Forever21 & Essie Nail Polishes

I love the Spring color scheme because it's all about vibrant hues and soft pastels. Nails can make a bold statement with any outfit so here are 4 colors I absolutely adore. First off is F21's teal shade which I had to get because my nail polish collection lacks this specific color. I've been obsessing over neutral colors so this nude nail polish was #1 on my to buy list. Essie has been one of my favorite brands because they provide flawless coverage and outstanding durability with all their shades. 'Borrowed & Blue' gives you a precious light blue while 'Tart Deco' gives you an artistic burst of coral.

Brandy Melville Hair Tie Bows

I picked these up from the Brandy Melville Warehouse sale a few weeks back. They were free so i took huge chunks of each print. These hair ties can give any braided hair style or simple ponytail a flirty and sweet look.

Zerouv Sunglasses

I discovered this website from one of my favorite fashion bloggers last year. Zerouv offers a wide variety of sunnies styled for men and women who like to give their outfits a sharp finishing touch. They offer FREE SHIPPING and prices are as low as $9.99! I purchased these babies since I'm into round and oversized lenses. Buy a pair and I guarantee you won't regret it!

My Everyday Makeup

No matter what season it is, my makeup routine doesn't change. I like to go for the natural look so nothing too over the top.

I start off with my toofaced primed & poreless face primer. It goes on seamlessly and it keeps my makeup intact. I prefer BB cream over foundation because it's an all-in-one cosmetic that acts as a moisturizer, primer, and light foundation. The one I use is Dior's BB creme to cover up my blemishes and discolored spots, creating an even skin tone. This BB creme goes on super light so it doesn't feel like you have anything on your face!

Out of all the mascaras I tried out there, Clinique is the only one that delivers the right amount of volume and length I've always desired. Their high impact extreme volume mascara has never failed me.

Bobbi Brown's long-wear gel eyeliner in black ink is my go to eyeliner. I use their ultra fine eye liner brush with it so it goes on precisely and smoothly. It dries quickly and has a water-resistant finish.

The Toofaced chocolate soleil bronzer is my favorite beauty product I own. Not only does this bronzer smell like chocolate but it executes a matte finish which I prefer over other shimmery bronzers.

I can never leave the house without my rosebud salve. This must-have lip balm is not only used to moisturize my lips but also to relieve dry skin. This was my best friend when I was surviving the polar vortex in New York.

To finish it off, Make up Forever's lipstick in Rouge Artist Natural gives my lips the perfect pinkish brown tint. It keeps my lips moisturized and soft without drying them out. Definitely a keeper.

RED

Photos by Vera Bersabal

(Beanie- Pacsun, Sunnies- ZeroUV, Cropped Tank- Cottonon, Shorts- Hollister, Flannel- Old Navy)

I've been busy packing for another trip.... I'm going to my homeland, the Philippines! I haven't been there in years so I'm very excited to see my grandma and eat lots of Filipino food! (Not that I already don't here)

My mum told my sister and I that we're checking in 4 luggages. In other words, that gives me the opportunity to pack my entire closet- HAHA! I've decided on saving the fancy clothes for the city and the casual clothes for the province.

I'll be taking lots of pictures so all you readers can catch a glimpse of my adventures while I'm there. Who knows, maybe I'll end up staying in a private beach or go zip lining in a forest!

WELCOME TO MY BLOG

(Romper- Nastygal, Sunnies- Zerouv)

Oh, hello there!

So it's finally here. After all the brain storming and never ending support from my family and friends, my blog is up and running! First and foremost, I'd like to thank the beautifully talented, Sonja of simplestylings (go follow her; simplestylings.blogspot.com) for being so helpful with all the major and minor details I wanted on my blog. Also, a HUGE thanks to Chammy for getting this started. I couldn't have imagined getting this done any other way without you two dolls. Thank you to my amazing photographers: Nikka Calleja, Edward Kim, Kassey Cordova, and my big sis, Vera. You guys are the best!! And how can I not forget this one; my not so little sister, Jona, for being the genius behind my fashion blog name, FASHIONTHREADSS.

As some of you may know, I've always had a keen eye for fashion dating back to high school. From reading Harpers Bazaar to Vogue, I discovered my interest in the constantly changing, and intriguing, fashion realm. Tuning in to  The Rachel Zoe Project gave me a couple glimpses of what it would be like to live a life in fashion. It then occurred to me that starting my own blog would be a splendid idea. Posting pictures of outfits with my sense of style. It would be something I would enjoy doing since I loved playing dress up as a kid.

I became inspired by fashion bloggers such as Olivia of lusttforlife.com and Jessica of hapatime.com on lookbook.nu. I came to a realization that it isn't necessary to buy expensive clothes to look fashionable. You can piece together a casual yet chic outfit with a plain white tee, distressed jeans and a pair of edgy flats/heels - don't forget your sunnies! Throw on your aviators and there you have it. A comfortable and stylish outfit!

My blog will include posts of my day to day outfits as well as places I've traveled to. I'd like to get some feedback on what you, readers, would like for me to post too! Let me know your creative ideas by dropping your suggestions on my IG or just shoot me an email! I'll look forward to reading all of them!

Thank you for all the love and support!

Cheers to the weekend!
